What Salvation Is

Salvation is deliverance (Freedom) from the authority and control of sin.  According to the Word of God, you will be saved from enemies (Luke 1:71),sin (Romans 10:1, 9-10), bondage (Acts 7:25) sickness, and disease (Acts 4:12).  Salvation is a gift available to all who repent (Change their attitude and direction toward sin) and believe in Jesus (Romans 10:9-10), which prepares you to confess Him as your Lord and Savior.

The blood of Jesus Christ paid the price for salvation.  In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, the apostle Paul says that you are not your own, but you have been bought with a price. Jesus paid the price for you to receive the gift of salvation.

Jesus is the only way to the Father according to John 14:6.  Acts 4:12 also says that there is no other name under heaven by which we may be saved.

Prayer To Receive Jesus as Your Savior

Heavenly Father,

I recognize and admit that I am a sinner.  I repent of my sins and ask you to forgive me.  You said in your Word “…Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”  (Romans 10:13).  Jesus, I’m calling on your name.

You also said, “ …if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”(Romans 10:9-10).  I believe with my heart that Jesus was raised from the dead so that I may live eternally.  I confess Him now as my Lord.  In Jesus’ name I pray.  Amen.
